I have a long-time, semi-secret passion for big old airplanes.   I’m especially turned on by the last of piston-engine -driven airliners, many of which had their careers shortened by the onset of the jet engine.  Sexiest of the bunch?  The Lockheed Constellation.  Thanks to pilot pal Peter Smith, here is some rare Connie porn:

Lest we forget:  The great Otis Redding died in a plane crash 40 years ago this month, just a few days after recording ”Dock of The Bay” — He was from Georgia, not Motown, so it was easier to miss him, I guess.  I won’t ever forget his soulful voice.
